Happy trails, Sheila! On Sept. 14, Sheila K. Fries, longtime Bandera resident, joined her beloved husband, Scooter, on that big trail ride among the stars. Born on March 23, 1940, Sheila retired from a long and honorable public service career with the State of Texas, first at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality, then the Texas Racing Commission, and finally, as the state records m anager at the Texas State Library and Archives Commission.
