Saragosa Joe Rodriguez of Bandera, Texas, passed away on December 26, 2021, in San Antonio. He was born in Bandera, Texas to father, Gregorio Rodriguez. and mother, Mikuela Hernandez on November 3, 1933. He married Celestina (Sally) Algueseva on December 16, 1961 and were married over 59 years. Joe was the youngest of seven children.

Joe was raised in Bandera where he attended Catholic School and Bandera ISD. During his high school years, he was a proud member of the Bandera Bulldogs, #23. After high school, Joe began his career in the grocery business at Ryan’s Grocery Store on Cedar Street. From there, he continued to work his way through the various departments, from butcher, to produce manager to bakery manager. He loved working in the public all those years and loved when he would run into old and new friends. After many years of service, Joe would retire from Lowe’s Grocery Store. Joe also used to run the movies at the local theater in Bandera, which is where he met his wife Sally. Joe dedicated his life to the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus. Joe also served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister, Usher, and Sunday reader and for many years, if there was a Church Festival, he was sure to be found there helping where he could.

Joe Rodriguez is survived by his two son S. Joe Rodriguez II and his wife Kunthea, son Noel A. Rodriguez and grandchildren Marina Rodriguez and Randall Olsen and three great grandchildren. Joe loved his family and instilled the values of hard work, perseverance, and a deep love of God. We Love You Dad!

A Rosary followed by a Mass will begin at 10:00am on Saturday, January 15, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. Flowers may be sent to St. Stanislaus Church at 311 7th Street, Bandera, Texas 78003
