Lewis Griffith Briley, 87, of Pipe Creek, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at his home in Pipe Creek. He was born in White Springs, Florida to Albert W. Castleberry and Anne Holley on August 29, 1934. He was adopted by Homer G. Briley in 1936. He married Mary E. Clark, of Bandera, on November 3, 1960.

He went to school in Winter Garden, Florida and joined The United States Air Force on May 16, 1957. He retired after serving over 20 years.

Lewis is preceded in death by his mother, adopted father and sisters, Eleanor and Shirley.

Lewis is survived by his wife, Mary Briley, his daughter Natalie Moore, her husband, Shane Moore and his son, Don Briley. He was known as PopPop to eight grandchildren: Jennifer Weatherington, her husband, Greg, Shawn Moore, his wife Amie, Ashley Briley, Brownyn Watts, her husband Zach, Shelby Odom, her husband Josh, Chris Reyna, Shannon Moore and Erin Briley. He and Mary were blessed with thirteen great-grandchildren: Logan, Sophia, Aubrie, Lane, Drayden, Brielynn, Levyn, Zoey, Daniel, Josh Jr, Mallory, Nicole and Kyron.

Visitation was at 1 p.m. Wednesday December 29 at Grimes Funeral Home in Bandera, Texas.

Funeral Services was held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 29th at Grimes Funeral Home in Bandera, Texas with Chaplin Larry Smith. Burial followed at Pipe Creek Cemetery.

The family of Lewis wishes to extend our sincere thanks to Alamo Hospice for all the love and care you bestowed to him and his family all these years.
