JoAnn Ivy Bednar peacefully passed away on Friday, Sept. 18, 2020, at the age of 72.

Born on March 2, 1948, in San Antonio, Texas to parents James Ivy and Virginia McHenry, JoAnn was a kindhearted, fun-loving person.

JoAnn lived a life of service, spending her professional life working at the University of Texas Health Science Center and her private life caring for her handicapped son Keith.

She is preceded in death by her parents James Ivy and Virginia McHenry.

She is survived by her loving husband John J. Bednar Jr., son Keith Bednar, her brother Robert Borders, and many nieces and nephews.

Due to COVID restrictions, there will be a private Celebration of Life for the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Memory of JoAnn B ednar. Gifts in JoAnn’s name may be made online at
