James Francis Martin, 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Bandera, Texas on April 16, 2022.

Jim was born on September 15, 1936, in Youngstown, Ohio to James Francis, Sr. and Mary Emma Martin.

On June 14, 1958, he married the love of his life, Carole and they had two daughters, Kimberlie and Kathleen.

He retired from Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas in 1992 after a successful 30-year Civil Service career.

He spent his retirement years enjoying all the things he loved - his family, friends, and golf. He was loved by all for his quiet demeanor and quick wit and will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emma Martin, his daughter Kathy Martin, his brother, Jack Martin and his brother-in-law, Phil Matis.

Survivors include his wife, Carole Martin, daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Ralph Ratliff, sister, Nancy Matis, brother-in-law, Bob Hunter and wife, Mary, granddaughter, Sonja Martin and husband, DJ, three great granddaughters, Charolette, Lauryn and Lindsay, soon-to-be seven great-great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and his beloved dog, Trixie.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 9:30 am followed by a 10 am Funeral Mass on Friday, April 29, 2022, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Bandera. Reception will follow at 12 pm at Pap’s Italian Grill, 632 State Hwy 16 S in Bandera.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Peterson Hospice for their exceptional, kind, compassionate care.
