Daniel Lynn Zook passed away on Saturday, December 25, 2021, at his residence in Bandera, Texas, at the age of 72. Danny was born on August 22, 1949, in Frankfort, Indiana, to Waneta Fern Wolf and David Richard Zook.

Danny graduated Dulles Highschool in Stafford, Texas, in 1967. While attending high school he became a checker at Ledbetter’s in Spring Branch, Texas, where he got to work closely with his mother, Waneta, if he wasn’t out at the beach surfing. In 1969, Danny met and married the love of his life, Mary, they went on to have two children Thomas Allen Zook and Christina Zook and settled down in Houston, Texas. Daniel was known as a man of many talents, working in many fields throughout his years, however it was his job after he retired from Cameron Iron Works that brought him the most joy. Danny loved working at Lowe’s Market in Bandera and Walmart in Boerne, he enjoyed seeing his customers and was known for a friendly smile and kind words. Within the last year Danny returned to church, attending Walker Baptist Church as well as watching Shepherd’s Chapel on Dish TV. You could find Danny listening to his favorite artist, Elvis Presley, while tending to his beautiful yard.

Danny had a contagious laugh, a bright smile, and heart full of love, especially for his family. He will forever be remembered and missed.

He is survived by his nephew, James David Martin of Bandera, Texas; sister, Pamela Joy Walker and husband Randall of Bellville, Texas; daughter, Christina Zook of Houston, Texas; son, Thomas Allen Zook of Hockley, Texas; brothers, Donny Zook and his wife Sarah of Sulfur Springs, Arkansas and Terry Zook of Little Rock, Arkansas; grandchildren, Amy Zook, Maya Zook, Cory Zook, and Jonathon Zook all of Houston, Texas; niece, Donna Zook of Centerton, Arkansas; son Camden Rice; nephews, Mike Zook and wife Debbie of Wallace, Texas; son Aaron Zook; and Greg Zook and his wife Debbie of Orchard, Texas; friends, Ron and Donna Coker, Tosha Weaver, Brenda Tidwell, and Naomi Leggit; as well as numerous friends.

Daniel is preceded in death by his parents, Waneta Fern Zook and David Richard Zook; sister, Diana Jean Zook; and brother, William Zook.

A private family memorial service will be held in February 2022 where the family will enjoy some of Danny’s favorites in Bellville, Texas.
