Tournament benefits university center activities

Posted in:

Representatives from Forging Futures Classic Charity Golf Tournament recently awarded $140,000 to the Hill Country University Center Foundation and Texas Tech University-Fredericksburg to support educational programs the institutions offer and student scholarships.

Dr. Tom Hutton, chair of the Forging Futures tournament committee, presented checks for $70,000 each to the Hill Country foundation and to Fredericksburg campus officials.

“In 2019, we had an even better event than the first year, and we are so pleased to be able to make these financial awards,” Hutton said. “What goes on in this (university center) building is tremendous. It literally is forging futures for so many of our students.”

The university center in Fredericksburg is a local site for instruction provided by officials with Texas Tech University and Central Texas College.

The 3rd Annual Forging Futures Golf Tourney will be held April 26-27 at the Boot Ranch golf course in Fredericksburg. Information about the golf tournament is available at www.forgingfuturesclassic.org.
