Students qualify for rodeo finals

Three local Bandera students recently qualified for state high school and junior high state rodeo competitions finals. Senior Maddison Brown qualified for the Texas High School Rodeo Association (THSRA) State Finals, which will be held June 3-12 at the Taylor County Expo Center in Abilene. Brown, who is home-schooled, qualified in the barrel racing competition. Sixth grader Shada Cline and seventh grader Kase Riley qualified for the Texas Junior High Rodeo Association (TJHRA) State Finals, which will be held May 23-30 in Gonzales. Cline, who is home-schooled, qualified in the barrel racing, goat tying and breakaway roping competitions. Riley, a student at Bandera Middle School,
