The Bandera County Republican Women presented their annual scholarship winners on Thursday, May 4 at their regular monthly meeting.Seniors Anika Gard and Sophie Hartmann, chosen from 13 Bandera High School applicants to receive $1,000 scholarships, read their winning essays to the group. Gard’s essay dealt with the impact one vote can make in an election. Anika intends to attend Texas A&M College Station’s Bush School of Government with a major in International Affairs.Hartmann will attend Texas A&M in Corpus Christi and plans to study nursing.
