Cypress trees on the banks of the Medina River near Bandera display purple bands around their trunks that indicate that “No trespassing” is allowed on that property and carry the same legal consequence as a “No trespassing” sign. Posted signs are still recommended at all access points to the property and gates. Trespassing in Texas is a Class B misdemeanor, or a Class A misdemeanor if the trespasser is carrying a firearm.
