The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Bandera Conference, had its first meeting on July 25, 1995, and has been serving Bandera County since then.

Their official aggregation into the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul Southwest Texas Council took place on May 31, 2011, marking this month as our tenth anniversary as an affiliated member of the society.

Their office and food pantry are located at St. Stanislaus Church, 311 Seventh Street, Bandera, Texas, and is open each Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. for food distribution and financial assistance.

We also have a food pantry located at our mission, St. Victor’s Chapel, 10514 Park Rd. 37, Lakehills, Texas. They are open the third Wednesday of every month from 9:0 a.m. to 11 am and distribute food only.

Financial assistance for electricity, water, rent, gasoline, medicines are available to our brothers and sisters in need.

We are also available for spiritual help, assis tance in completing a family budget, help in preparing a resume, and limited tax assistance.

The vision of St. Stanislaus SVdP is to help our less fortunate brothers and sisters who have fallen on hard times.

While food and financial help are very important, helping prepare those in need on how to change where they currently are and help them move forward is where we hope to expand our services.

Bob Bashaw is the President of St. Stanislaus’ Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
