Enrollment for pre-kindergarten students and students new to the Bandera Independent School District started last week and is continuing online while schools are closed in response to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Parents and guardians wanting to enroll children in school are advised to go to the BISD webpage online at www.banderaisd.net and to click on the Enrollment/Registration button under the banner to find out what documents will be needed to complete the registration process and then to click on the Parent Portal button also under the banner to create an account.
Documents needed by the district can be uploaded from a computer or cell phone in completing the registration process.
Those enrolling in the district’s pre-k program will get a call from a representative of Alkek or Hill Country Elementary School to answer questions and to help parents complete the application process.
Pre-k parents can drop off copies of financial information that is part of the application at the campus where their child is assigned either on Monday, May 18, of Wednesday, May 20. The dropoff times are from 10 a.m. to noon and from 5-6:30 p.m. each day.
BISD is moving to a full-day, pre-k program this year for students who are 4-years-old by Sept. 1 at both campuses.
Students meeting eligibility requirements will be admitted at no charge but a limited number of pre-k seats available for those agreeing to pay tuition also will be available.
