Nonprofits receive grants from BEC

Hill Country Samaritans and the Kendall County Women’s Shleter, two nonprofit organizations within the Bandera Electric Cooperative (BEC) service territory, recently received $2,500 each in BEC Foundation grants for the first quarter grant cycle. Hill Country Samaritans received a $2,500 grant to purchase backpacks and school supplies for their annual Back to School Bash event which provides Bandera County students with backpacks, school supplies, health services, haircuts and more. “We have seen the smiles of many hundreds of children as they received free backpacks full of needed school supplies for the upcoming school year,” said Bill Beedle, Hill Country Samaritans president. “Our organization ...
