It’s a great time to be a member of the Bandera County Farm Bureau, and the organization welcomes new members to add strength to its numbers and influence, according to its president.

“We pride ourselves in being the voice of Texas agriculture, but you don’t have to be a farmer or rancher to be a member of the Bandera County Farm Bureau. We invite everyone who has an interest in supporting agriculture and the rural way of life to be a part of our organization,” Booker Young, Bandera County Farm Bureau president, said. “There are a lot of things to like about being a Farm Bureau member right now.”

Booker said a membership with Bandera County Farm Bureau also provides the family with a membership with the Texas Farm Bureau and the American Farm Bureau Federation, the largest general farm and ranch organizations in the state and in the world, respectively.

Membership dues with the Bandera County Farm Bureau are $45 per year.

“We believe private property rights are worth protecting. Free and fair trade is necessary. The rural way of life is worth preserving, and a prosperous agriculture ensures a viable, domestic source of food, fiber, and fuel,” Booker said.

Booker Young noted in addition to representation in Austin and Washington, D.C., members save time and money with access to more than 60 benefits and exclusive discounts.

“Farm Bureau members get $500 bonus cash on eligible Ford vehicles,” Booker said. “And there are even more benefits that help members save on travel, sports tickets, home services, health and other products. There’s truly something for everyone.”

A full list of member benefits and services can be found online at: texasfarmbureau.org/memberbenefits.

Students are also eligible to apply for local and state scholarships, participate in the new Student Success Series and compete in the Free Enterprise Speech Contest.

Membership information can be obtained by contacting the Bandera County Farm Bureau at (830-796-3077) or (1003 13th St Bandera, TX).
