Medina drops season finale

The Medina boys basketball team ended its season with a 55-49 loss to Rocksprings last month.

The Medina Bobcats led for three quarters, going into the final quarter with 10-point point lead.

The Rocksprings Angoras used a full court press to come back and take the lead with less than two minutes to play. Medina couldn’t overcome the rally.

Sophomore TJ DeLeon led the Bobcats with 23 points, and Junior Dawson Simons added 10 points for Medina.

The loss dropped Medina to 4-8 in the district, eliminating them from the playoffs and resulting in a 13-11 overall record for the season.

“We suffered three close defeats at the end of the season, when one win would have given us a shot at the playoffs. It was a frustrating ending to a season that had many ups and downs,” stated head coach Bill Carter.
