On Saturday, Aug. 15, in Bandera City Park, the late Marine Master Sergeant Rodney Buentello was honored by the Buckhorn Chapter of the Rough Riders Motorcycle Club with a memorial bench to commemorate his act of heroism in saving the lives of two local teens who had become entrapped by the turbulent current flowing under the Medina River dam. Buentello lost his own life in the act of saving others that day, June 8, 2016.
