The location of the Lewis Bros. Store in Pipe Creek is pretty easy to find; just look the for old, orange Gulf gas station sign.

Pipe Creek resident and antique collector Pat Sullivan operates an antique store Thursday through Sunday every week.

She rents the historic location from owners Fred and Darlene Hildebrand, who have owned the property since 2000.

“I kept the original name of Lewis Bros. It was grocery store and had a Gulf gas station from 1941 to late 1980s,” said Sullivan, who knows a lot about the history of the location built in 1933.

Sullivan said it took about two years to get into building and now has a good business.

“I have been antique collector for a long time and at one point was able to get room in an antique mall and later needed more space,” she said, referring to her current location.

Last weekend, business was boosted by her sidewalk sale, which drew drew a number of people including the Dodd family, dad Synjyn, mom Christyl, and boys

Dominic, 8, and Mason, 5.

“My wife grew up and graduated in Pipe Creek and we now live in Fort Worth,” said Synjyn Dodd, who was at the store with his wife, Christyl, and two boys, eight-year-old Dominic and five-year-old Mason.

“We come down here every few months and love it,” the father said.
