The Lakehills Area Library will host their Annual Fundraiser and Dinner on Saturday, March 25, in the Lakehills Community Center, located at 11225 PR 37 in Lakehills.

The doors will open at 4:30 p.m., and the enchilada casserole dinner will be served at 5 p.m. The sides include beans, rice, tortilla, drink and dessert for $12 a plate.

There will be a silent auction; and two drawings at 7 p.m., one for the Pick-A-Prizes and another for the Raffle.

The raffle item is a Weber SmokeFire II Pellet Grill valued at $1,200. Raffle tickets are $5 each or five for $20. The grill was donated by Boyle’s True Value. Tickets can be purchased now at the library or at the fundraiser.

The Lakehills library has a new art exhibit with paintings by local artist Cathy Pankratz, a Hill Country native who is a wife, mother and grandmother. She painted some when young and, with her nest empty, she took it up seriously in 2018.

Pankratz works in oils, acrylics and pastels and her works are available for purchase. More information may be obtained on her website: cathypankratzarts.com, and she can be reached by email: cathypankratzarts@ gmail.com.

The library holds a monthly Book Sale the first Saturday of every month and they offer a Book Club the third Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m.

In addition, the Lakehills library offers Preschool Storytime every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., where the kiddos enjoy stories and crafts.

The Food Bank will visit the library on Friday, March 24, with Food Bank Representative Paul Mata on site to help with food resources and other services, as needed.

The local Garden Club has begun meeting again twice a month; there is a Smartphone class; and Healthcare Marketplace Assistance.
