The Bandera County Junior Livestock Show is both old and young at the same time.
The show, that runs from Thursday, Jan. 9, to Saturday, Jan. 11, at Mansfield Park outside of Bandera, turns 84 in 2020 and includes roughly 250 youth entrants, most of them with animals weighing from four to 1,300 pounds. Bandera County Junior Livestock Show Association Board President Kevin Meier said the long-running event was started by Bandera County farmers and has help expand and preserve the county’s agriculture sector.
