Over 200 partygoers attended the ninetieth birthday celebration for the Frontier Times Museum. The Farm Country Club hosted the event, and the banquet hall was decorated with white tablecloths, candles, flowers, and mirrors for the party.

The participants came dressed in everything from tuxedos and formal attire to cowboy chic.

Rebecca Norton, Executive Director, and her staff wove their way through the crowd making sure the event went off smoothly.

Museum Director Catherine Carr, chairman of the Emerald and Diamond Gala, planned and executed an exceptional tribute to the Museum.

“It was wonderful to see everyone come out to support the museum, especially this year as we are celebrating 90 years of being an important part of the Bandera community. The Gala is our largest fundraiser of the year. Our donors and their generosity help us serve local schoolchildren and allow us to offer free educational and historical programs throughout the years,” remarked Norton.

Black Tie Affairs Catering provided a meal fit for a special birthday event. Chicken breast and roasted pork loin with a green salad, steamed fresh vegetables, roasted potatoes, macaroni and cheese bar, and boiled shrimp were the mainstays of the dinner. Cocktails, beer, and wine were also provided to party goers.

The live auction featured trips to the Biltmore House in Asheville, North Carolina; a wine tasting stay in Sonoma, California; a stay in Sedona, Arizona; a staycation in Bandera; and several resorts in Mexico.

One of the most popular items was a trophy whitetail buck guided hunt in Zavala County.

Other items included a custom- made oak end table, bobcat rental, processed bison meat, an upscale travel set, a meat smoker, and a cash purse. The band Mishmash played a variety of tunes from covers of popular songs to old fashioned country ballads.

Time for dancing was provided after the live auction.

The Museum is committed to serving the Bandera community, the youth and visitors by bringing Texas history alive through its exhibits and programs.

The funds raised from this gala will go towards funding the museum’s operational costs so that they are able to provide educational programs and preserve the unique history of life on the Texas frontier.

Sponsors for this event were Custom Mirror and Glass, Meier Ranch, Good Times Ranch, Hevenor Lumber and Western Trails Antiques and Marketplace.
