City Council ordered the park closed to all activities over the Easter weekend to keep large crowds from gathering in violation of directives against large crowds implemented in the battle against the coronavirus. The city withdrew the total ban on activities in the park on Monday, April 13, but only allows people to hike, bicycle, fish and ride horses in the park while the coronavirus continues to challenge the nation’s healthcare capabilities.
