The number of new weekly COVID-19 cases continues to tick slightly upward, with Bandera County Emergency Management reporting 18 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 between June 10 and 16.

That number is a slight increase up from the previous week’s number of 15.

The Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) said Monday there have been 2,635 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 1,095 probable cases since the start of the pandemic.

No new deaths have been reported in Bandera County. To date, there have been 77 deaths attributed to the virus, 15 of which occurred this year.

While the cases in the county have ticked slightly upward, new cases and deaths have decreased substantially statewide.

The number of new cases of COVID-19 cases reported in Texas was 26,798, a decrease from last week’s number of 47,582, according to the Coronavirus Resource Center at Johns Hopkins University.

DSHS reported 58 deaths statewide, down from last week’s number of 77.

The number of lab-confirmed COVID-19 hospitalizations across the state rose slightly to 859, according to DSHS.
