Various roads within the city limits will undergo heavy road construction from June 24 to August 1.

The roads for that period will be: Cottonwood Street from Sycamore to Main Street; Sycamore Street from Main Street to 11th Street; 11th Street from Sycamore Street to Pecan, Cherry Street from Main Street to 11th Street, 8th Street from Pecan to Cherry; and Cherry Street from 8th Street to 9th Street.

“Various roads will be closed to through traffic as construction commences,” read a release from the Bandera Marshal’s Office. “All lane closures have been designed to provide alternate routes in the event a road is closed. Your patience during the process is appreciated.”

According to Mayor Suzanne Schauman, the city engineers put together a comprehensive city construction plan encompassing various types of repairs on the streets.

“The streets were assessed, and a list was made starting with the most critical,” she said.

The construction is being done by Wagner Materials and Construction, which is based out of Bulverde.

The Bulletin will provide a more complete overview of the construction project in a future issue.
