Bill proposes highway dedication to hero

The Bandera County Commissioner’s Court accepted a motion made last week by County Attorney Janna Landig to designate approximately seven miles of State Highway 173 South as Master Sergeant Rodney Lee Buentello Memorial Highway. Following this acceptance, Lindig will next present her bill to Texas State Representative Andrew Murr. Buentello was a two-time Purple Heart recipient and retired marine who survived four combat tours, one in Afghanistan and three in Iraq, lost his life in June 2016 after saving two teens from drowning in the Medina River.
