The Bandera Electric Cooperative enjoyed “a very good year” in 2019 with continued electric sales growth and growth in its fiber service network, generating enough revenue to enable the cooperative’s board to increase the capital credit payments it returns to its members by 67 percent, the cooperative’s chief executive officer said during BEC’s annual meeting on Saturday, Aug. 15.
CEO Bill Hetherington said in a written report in conjunction with the meeting that the BEC exceeded financial expectations last year due in part to higher than expected broadband margins and lower energy costs.
