The 16th Baubles & Boots celebrated Saturday, Feb. 12, was a winner in all ways, with BISD Education Foundation officials reporting that the event raised $70,000 after expenses.

“That’s $70,000 that will go directly back into our schools in the form of grants!” read a post on the foundation’s Facebook page. “Thank you to all our guests, our sponsors, our donors, and everyone who helped to make Baubles and Bots 2022 a record-shattering year!”

BISD Education Foundation President Alyssa Cothran said the event had an amazing turn out with a fun and light feel to the proceedings.

“Our guests came out ready to support the foundation, and without them, we’d never be able to do what we do, she said.

The evening kicked off with hors d’oeuvres, drinks and mingling. Throughout the night, there were several dozen silent auction tables, and at the end of the night the event had a live auction with about 10 larger pieces.

Typically, Baubles and Boots is held in January. However, with the rise of COVID-19, the board aired on the side of caution after the holidays and moved the event to May.

“We limited our ticket sales as well. Yet, even with the lower tickets and the different time of year, we had a record year,” Cothran said.
