Happy Cinco de Mayo! No, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexican Independence Day (that’s in September), but it is an important day.
It is the commemoration of the 1862 Battle of Puebla where a small group of Mexican soldiers were able to defeat a much larger group of French invaders. For a fuller history of this important battle, check out the library’s blog post this week.
