After missing an induction ceremony in 2020, the Frontier Times Museum roared back with an energized evening event where they inducted four Texans into their Texas Heroes Hall of Honor.

The four new inductees were Western artist Jack Moss, rancher and cowgirl Barbara Mazurek and, posthumously, Bandera legends Frank Anderwald and Bruce Montague.

“I am shocked and dazed by this induction, and at the same time I appreciate the honor and feel humble,” Jack Moss said. “This is one of, if not the one, the greatest honor I have ever received,”

“It is so wonderful to receive this honor and I am so thankful and so humble,” Mazurek said.

Family members for Anderwald and Montague spoke about their kinfolk and thanked the museum for the honor.

Frontier Times Museum Executive Director Rebecca Norton said the event was started in 2009 “to recognize the contributions of remarkable individuals and wonderous characters.”

“The community can nominate people as long as they are Texans,” she said. “We take the nominations to our Board of Trustees who select the inductees up to four a year,” Norton said.
