At a special meeting on November 9, the Commissioner’s Court approved the adoption of the new redistricting plan for the justice of the peace, county commissioner, and constable precinct boundary lines.

The court approved all in favor of the final redrawn district map, called Illustrative Plan 1, that moved the precinct 3 boundary to the east into Precinct One to capture more population into Precinct Three.

This move balanced Bandera County as a whole in accordance with and ap plicable requirements of federal and state law.

The Commissioner’s contracted the law firm, Bickerstaff Heath Delgado Acosta LLP to advise and guide the court on government and public law and draw maps for the County’s 2021 Redistricting Project. The Commissioner’s Court will come back to review the voting precincts in December, which Bickerstaff is also working on.
