The Shops of Bandera hosted a Sip and Shop evening for customers. The event began at 4 PM as vendors put out wine and snacks for nibbling. The crowd grew through out the evening as patrons stopped by to chat and snack.

“We are a family of vendors and it is fun to get together to offer the community a chance to sip and shop for a few extra hours,” said Sara D’Spain. Customers leisurely strolled through the more than 30 booths as they perused Christmas décor and unique gift items.

Eric Garrett and Stacey Schaffer-Martinez spent the night having fun and showing off the new items in their booth to interested passersby. Their booth “Day Drinking” had a variety of unusual items that would attract anyone to their fun pink theme shop. With a motto of “What Happens in Bandera, Stays in Bandera” these girls were ready to party and have a good time.

“It is absolutely fun to help out at Karissa’s. I enjoy seeing people and having a chance to talk. It’s great,” said assistant Connie Shever.

The only collection of vinyl records in Bandera can be found at Stevie Ray’s Vinyl in the Shops of Bandera. “It is the best around,” said shopper Denise Norquist. The many boxes of records recalled a past era when putting a record on the record player signaled the start of the party. Owner Stevie Ray Anderson quietly stood and smiled shyly at the event. He had literally thousands of records displayed for customers to flip through and remember their younger years.

The Shops of Bandera has more events planned for the holiday season.
