For the third year in a row, Medina residents gathered to jump into the North branch of the Medina River.

Organized by The Core Coffee House Heidi Klaassen, the event kicked off when Emitt Klaassen jumped into the icy waters from a Cypress tree 20 feet above the water.

After Emitt took the plunge, others followed, swimming around before going back ashore to dry off and warm up.

According to attendee Percy Smerek, the attendees who went into the river were: Jessica and Conrad Klaassen, Tessa Baker, Emitt Klaassen, Heidi and Travis Klaassen, Moriah Moreno, Katie Stegemeuller, Chris Reese, Caroline Rogers, Steve Switzer, Kate and Julianna Rogers and Lee Bailey.
