The Medina Community Library held a fundraising gala Saturday, March 26. The gala was held at the library’s Rodney Camp Pavilion and honored the community of Medina.

Refreshments were enjoyed by 153 community members and were provided by many excellent cooks: Colleen Nicholas, Mundee Charanza, Catherine Carr, Jan Pump, Kristi Sparks, Jennifer Walker, Carolyn LaCour and Amy Mills. From crawfish pie to strawberry tarts and stuffed mushrooms to the chocolate fountain, the food was fabulous.

Great music was provided by Caliche Hill. They played in our new backyard patio garden, which is a new “hang out spot” at the library.

The bucket raffle, silent auction and live auction were a big hit with all the participants. There were many donors that provided the “gala prizes” and helped raised a bit over $38,000 for the library’s operating expenses for things such as summer reading, programming and books.

Deb Hopkins, Thad Emmons and Armando Rodriguez were the organizers for the event. They had many committees that helped them behind the scene with prizes, set up, food, etc.
