At the April 19 regular meeting of the Bandera City Council, Public Works employee Terry Wells, was recognized for five years of service.

“You know I’m pretty sure, coming to work for the Public Works department in the City of Bandera is a big step down from being a movie star,” Mayor Suzanne Schauman told Wells, referring to the fact that he played Andy in the 1990 film adaptation of Lord of the Flies.

Schauman continued, “Terry is the perfect example of perseverance, willingness, and going that extra mile. Terry started in as a laborer and he’s worked his way up to Foreman, learned, gotten his licenses, and I’m very proud of you. Terry, thank you.”

Wells replied, “Still learning. I love to learn.”

After receiving the award, he said, “It’s awesome, I love it. Y’all have a good day. Thank you.”
