The Bandera County Chamber of Commerce’s annual taco sale brought in $1,704, which was used to purchase animals at the Bandera County Junior Livestock show.

The group came together on January 14 with the help of sponsors 2 Gringo’s Chupacabra Meat Market, Brick’s Café, Kickback Corner, Mendoza’s Mexican Grill and T.J.’s at the Old Forge to provide breakfast tacos in front of the Bandera County Courthouse for a donation. The breakfast was hailed a success as the tacos ran out just before the 10 AM close.

The wild Bandera wind didn’t stop the group from vigorously waving down drivers to stop by and get some breakfast. Two volunteers carried signs announcing the breakfast. One even wore a stylish taco hat!

President Angela Munoz from Kickback Corner handed out tacos after rising at 3 a.m. to begin the food preparation. Visitors and locals stopped by to chat, pick up tacos and make donations. The group showed true Bandera hospitality to all who came through.

Chamber Advisory Director Jill Moore said “We have done really well. The proceeds will go to the Bandera County Junior Livestock Show.”

The funds are targeted to purchase as many “back page” animals as possible to support those students. Moore also commented that “if you didn’t get a chance to come by this year, we will see you next year.”
