Disclosure: The Bulletin is a sponsor for this year’s calendar.

A group of locals including Marine veterans are showing skin to benefit Bandera County families in need this holiday season.

Bandera Dudeoir and Ride and Rise Above have created an amusing, enticing calendar, and proceeds will go toward HEB and Wal-Mart gift cards to put food and tables and presents under trees for Bandera County families.

“It’s a ridiculous collection of slightly revealing photos of local dudes with dad-bods doing their best to act sexy and having a lot of fun for a good cause,” said calendar model and organizer Nick Barron.

Those interested in donating to the mission directly can do so by calling Scott Kaufmann at 847-942-7543, making a donation to the ride and Rise Above bank account at the TXN Bank in Bandera or electronically to the RideAndRiseAbove Pay-Pal account.

A calendar launch party is scheduled for next Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 11th Street Cowboy Bar at 6:00 p.m. Models will be onsite to take photos and sign calendars, which are priced at $30. Calendars will be sold at the Shops of Bandera, with all proceeds going to the mission.
