Student aid program examined at meeting

Posted in:

Charles and Susan Freeman will be guest speakers at the Thursday, July 2, meeting of the Bandera County Republican Women to talk about a program they help put on called the Packs 4 Kids program.

The program collects food and snacks that are distributed to Bandera Independent School District students in need to see that they have meals and snacks to eat at their homes over the weekends and school holidays.

The Republican Women’s organization also will kick off its annual School Supply Drive at the meeting. Supply lists by grades will be available at the meeting to help guide donations.

The group will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. at the American Legion Post 157 hall in Bandera, 205 12th St. The public, men and women, are always invited to take part in the meeting.

At its next meeting on Aug. 6, BISD Superintendent Jerry Hollingsworth will be the guest speaker. That meeting is scheduled to be held at the Silver Sage center, 803 Buck Creek Dr. in Bandera.
