The Nest will host its first annual Community Christmas event on Saturday, Dec. 12, starting at 1 p.m. at 8161 Hwy 16 S. in Pipe Creek.
The free event will include Santa Claus at 2 p.m., Krazy Kim Karaoke at 3 p.m., axe throwing games and prizes, a children’s craft table, bouncy house, local vendors, food and drinks, raffles and more.
Spokesperson Cari Espinosa said The Nest is holding the event to support and network with the community’s small businesses and their families in light of COVID-19’s harsh impact.
“We invite businesses to sell their fares in an outdoor venue with fewer restrictions than an indoor locale. Here we will partner together as neighbors, no vendor set-up fees,” said Nest spokesperson Cari Espinosa.
The event also intends to gather the community for a positive family outdoor Christmas event that lifts spirits with a day of casual fun and engagement.
“We want to re-instill an environment of movement, association, and assembly where adults and children can gather, talk, laugh, and live freely,” Espinosa said.
Espinosa also said that the event will help them promote their upcoming cabin resort venue.
“Through each event that we host, we gain more knowledge about the community’s history, meet new friends and find new networks to connect with,” she said.
The Nest’s official grand opening is set for early next year, and more events and fundraisers are in the works.
