The Esther Benedict Gallery Christmas Show made for a festive time last Saturday and will continue with showings scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 3 and 17 from noon until four.

Last Saturday around 60 to 70 people looked at Benedict’s many metal art works including metal art with a Christmas look.

Among the excited browsers were Jay Aalsma and Jan Sorenson.

“We saw Esther Benedict work in Tarpley and Bandera and we liked it and then we got a post card with our name, so we came. We are looking for Christmas presents, “Jan Sorenson said.

Snacks, drinks (hot chocolate and wine) and music added to festive, warm atmosphere, which included new pieces on the sculpture walk as well as Christmas ornaments in one part of the gallery.

Esther Benedict has a history as interesting and captivating as her artwork.

“I moved down here from New York in 1996 after working on many things, including a 16-year career in horseshoeing in New York State,” she told the Bulletin.

She would open the gallery in 2018.

Next month’s events run from noon to 4 p.m. at 160 Diamond J Road in Pipe Creek.

Items can be purchased from the art gallery, but interested parties can also order custom pieces.
