Families in the Medina area only have until Saturday, Dec. 14, to sign up with Agape Offerings for assistance with Christmas this year, officials of the Medina thrift store and charitable center said.
Agape officials said they will provide a Christmas ham, a gift basket filled with household and personal care products and Christmas gifts for children to families in need of assistance who sign up at the Agape Thrift Store, at 263 Reed Ave. in Medina, by Dec. 14.
The store is only open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Families who want to participate also can sign up by contacting the center’s manager, Nancy Wojnowski, at 830-589-3228 or 619-504-7750 by the Saturday deadline. Applications also can be submitted to her by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Wojnowski said officials will need the name, address and phone number of a family member who wants to take part in the assistance program, along with the names and ages of the children in the family and a wish list for the youngsters age 10 and younger.
Those children will receive gifts from the outreach, while youngsters ages 11 - 17 will receive a gift card from Walmart.
The center will be open to distribute the Christmas offerings back to the families who requested them on Dec. 21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
