The 44th annual Musician’s Reunion put on by Buck and Shirley Sloan in the covered meeting space at the rear of Mansfield Park is being held through Saturday, Aug. 22, and all lovers and performers of country music are invited to take part.
The couple has held the reunion since they were married on March 6, 1976. Buck Sloan, who’s been named a living legend by the Bandera Music History Project Hall of Fame, and his musician friends play country tunes for free well into the night.
Longtime supporters of the musical showcase and new converts get together for a community dinner that everyone involved in is encouraged to bring a dish to at about 5 p.m. each evening.
Music can start before the dinner or after depending on how many musicians show up and how eager they are to get going.
Those planning to come are urged to bring folding chairs, snacks, drinks, fans and camping supplies if needed.
Dancing is encouraged.
