This past Saturday, a group of cadets from Bandera High School’s Navy JROTC collected 24 bags of trash along Highway 16 between the Pipe Creek Post Office and the Barrel House. The cadets who volunteered their time were, from left, Jackson Hutzler, Marckus Grant, Jayson Mitchell, Micah McCreary, Christian Franco, Beito Kelly-Giles, Jacob Tuma, Keaton Sarver, Rayce Dinova, Emily Garcia (Bandera High School National Honor Society member) and Julia Freeman. The new headquarters will have signs and election materials ahead of the primary election in March and will be located at 12th Street and Mulberry in Bandera. The headquarters will be open Friday, Saturday and Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. starting February 4. In other Republican Women news, the February 3 meeting has been moved to February 17. On that date, the Bandera County Republican Women will present a talk from Christin Bentley, President of Texas Freedom Coalition, Republican Activities and Special Education Advocate from Dallas Texas. Bentley will present a program titled “Miseducation in Public Schools”; topics will include critical race theory and sexualization of students. Read moreThe Lady Bulldogs suffered another setback at the hands of the Wimberley Lady Texans. The Texans beat the Bulldogs by a score of 73 to 32 on Friday night at the Competition Gym in Bandera. The Lady Bulldogs started strong but fell farther behind as the night went on. A combination of passing errors, poor shooting and questionable calls by the refs made for a hard night on the court.
