Medina Head Basketball Coach Bill Carter knows a new season with a new team is challenging, and that was the case for the Bobcats in their 61-46 season opener loss in Sabinal on Tuesday, Nov. 28.

“After falling behind 18-7 at the end of the first quarter, we could not make a run. Cold shooting from the field and free throw line continued to plague us throughout the game,” Carter said.

Medina’s leading scorer was junior Drew Ayala with 11 points followed by senior Bryan Keese with 8.

“With only a couple of days of practice with the full team (due to the Bobcats football playoff schedule), our offense was ragged and inconsistent.  Also, we committed several turnovers that led to easy buckets for Sabinal,” the coach said.
