Our hearts are heavy to announce that George Alton Sistrunk, age 86, of Dos Pesos Ranch, passed away with family by his side on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at 2:32 a.m. at Methodist Hospital.

George had suffered injuries from an accident on his ranch that he was simply unable to recover from.

George was born on Nov. 29, 1930 in Mitchell, Louisiana.  He was the founder of Alamo Cycle Plex in San Antonio and Pipe Creek Christian School; he had a head for business and a heart for the Lord.

George was an active member at his church, Christ Chapel, where he sang in the choir and served on various committees.

George was a member of the Exotic Wildlife Association and mentored many on raising various breeds of animals.  George’s love and generosity has reached so many in his community and beyond.

George was predeceased by his wife, Laura Ann Sistrunk.

He is survived by his children: Bonnie, Linda, Laura, Robin, Robert and Kurt; his grandchildren: Aaron, Billy, Jeff, Jill, Laura Jo, Emily, Sarah, Kyle and Marissa; and his great-grandchildren: Carleigh, Daegan, Nolan, Jordan, Ethan, Kai, Gunner, Harper and Brantley.

A celebration of the life of George Sistrunk is scheduled for Saturday, Dec.16, at 1 p.m. at Christ Chapel, 844 Highway 173 in Bandera, Texas.
