Almon (Al) H. Heep, age 75, of Bandera, died Monday, April 26, 2004 at his residence. He was born on July 2, 1928 in Stonewall to Max G. and Olga Jenschke Heep. On March 31, 1950, he married Jean Saathoff in San Antonio.
Al was a charter member of the Bandera Optimist Club, Past President of the Bandera Optimist Club, Past Lt. Gov. of the South Central District Optimist Club, Past Swine Supt. of the Bandera Jr. Livestock Show, Director of the Bandera Sports Complex, Past President of the Bandera Little League, and member of the Flying L. Chapel. He retired from Freidrich Air Conditioning as Manager of Engineering Services. He was currently a rancher, raising cattle and game management. Al was a graduate of Heald's Engineering College in San Francisco, CA.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Jean Heep of Bandera; son, David Heep; grandchildren, Dustin Heep, Travis Heep, Shannan Hubbard and Shane Hubbard; three great grandchildren; brothers, Bob Heep and wife, Anne of Abilene, John Henry Heep and wife, Bessie of Grand Prairie; sister, Bernice Gianotti and husband, John of San Antonio; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.
Services were April 30 at Grimes Chapel in Bandera with Rev. James Ennis officiating. Interment followed in Bandera Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Steve Molberg, Gary Molberg, Jeff Heep, Dan Heep, Terry Lieck, and Mark Mahone. Honorary pallbearers were Dennis Juren, A.L. Davis, Bill Boyington, Tom Der Tatevasion, Jerry Heep, Bill Heep, Larry Heep and the Directors and Community Advisory Board of Bandera Sports Complex.
