The Bandera Independent School District board of trustees set the tax rate at $1.18 per $100 valuation - broken down into maintenance and operations of $1.04 and $0.14 for the interest and sinking fund. The tax rate keeps Bandera ISD just under the rollback rate of $1.1895.
Last year's rate was $1.19, however, Bandera ISD will actually have more tax revenue this year because of the increase in the market value of residences in the district.
At the same meeting, the board recognized the two candidates seeking the place 4 spot on the board currently held by Lee Haile, who did not file for reelection. Bo Mansfield and Ray L. Vernon are running for place 4. Dr. Barbara Skipper, who is currently the place 3 trustee is running unopposed for reelection.
