A three-car accident left one fatality last Friday morning at a Pipe Creek intersection. According to a Department of Public Safety report, the collision was caused by an elderly driver attempting to make a U-turn.

Luce Robertson, 81, was headed east on Hwy. 16 when she slowed and stopped on the right shoulder at It’ll Do Lane, according to reports. When she attempted to make a U-turn to her left, she struck a vehicle driven by Tanner Keiser, 30, who was also driving eastbound. Keiser’s vehicle was pushed into the westbound lane of oncoming traffic, and hit Douglas Gleason, 59, head on. Gleason was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
