County historian given Preservation Award

Bulletin columnist and beloved Bandera County historian Peggy Tobin was awarded the  2011 Preservation Award on Dec. 6 by the Bandera County Historical Commission. The proclamation read as follows:

Peggy Tobin

Historian and Writer.

Married Don Tobin on February 1, 1942.

The mother of eight children: five sons and three daughters.

Member of the Bandera County Historical Commission for more than 50 years.

Historical Commission Chairman for over 15 years.

Author and editor of the Bandera County Historian for 15 years.

Helped secure the grant for the restoration of the Bandera County

Courthouse tower.

Sponsored Western Trail Marker in Bandera Pass.

Bandera Bulletin contributing writer.

For distinguished volunteer service in preserving the History of Bandera County,
