A Pipe Creek woman was killed last week in a car accident on Hwy. 46. Lisa Marie Babbitt, 25, died at the scene after a head-on collision.
According to State Trooper K.E. Morgan, Tommy Ray Theiss, 24, was headed westbound on Hwy. 46 when he struck a 1998 Dodge Ram driven by Filemon Bueno Garcia on Wednesday, Sept. 26, at 6:55 p.m.
Theiss was passing in a no-passing zone and lost control of his GMC Pickup before striking Garcia, 43, who was traveling eastbound on Hwy. 46, head on.
Babbitt was sitting in the center of the single cab. Another passenger, Sedric Jamal Rhodes, 22, seated in the far right passenger seat, was also injured in the accident. Rhodes, Theiss and Garcia were all transported to University Hospital in San Antonio.
Criminal charges are pending, and the case is under investigation.
